Treatment of Northern Milfoil Weeds in Moon Shadows Canals
Date of Treatment: Tuesday, May 28th, 2024 (Following Memorial Day)
Duration of Restrictions: 48 hours (Tuesday & Wednesday, May 28th & 29th)
Reason for Treatment:
- Current Condition: On May 8th, 2024, LakePro conducted a treatment for algae and weeds in Rush Lake and Moon Shadows. During this treatment, a high density of Northern Milfoil was observed.
- Proposed Action: Based on the assessment, LakePro has recommended treating all Moon Shadows canals with ProcellaCOR EC. This product specifically targets Northern Milfoil and is expected to eradicate it quickly and effectively.
Restrictions During and After Treatment
- NO LAKE USAGE ON MOON SHADOWS AND RUSH LAKE: All residents and visitors are asked to stay off the lake and out of the canals for 48 hours following the treatment. This includes:
- No Boating – NO BOATS IN THE WATER!
- No Swimming
- No Use of Canals at All
- NO IRRIGATION FOR 14 DAYS: No irrigation of any plants except for turf grass for 14 days following the treatment.
Additional Upcoming Communication:
- Notice: Rush Lake POA will confirm the treatment date and will send out an email announcement with the treatment details and restrictions. This notification is crucial and applies to everyone in the RLPOA and MSHOA, especially those residing near the canals.
- Signage: LakePro will post yellow signs around the canal properties during the treatment, detailing the specific restrictions and the timeframe.
